Heathrow Academy helping hundreds of local people find jobs

The Heathrow Employment and Skills Academy is playing a key role in helping local people find work at the airport. Over 800 people received employment offers through the Academy in 2022.

Campaign group Back Heathrow paid a visit to one of the Academy’s ‘Essential Skills’ workshops last week, to hear about the opportunities available and how local people can build a career at the airport.

Parmjit Dhanda, Executive Director of Back Heathrow, said:

“I really enjoyed visiting the Heathrow Academy to see first-hand how events like the skills workshop and community drop-in sessions are helping local people find work at Heathrow. It was great to meet some of those wanting to work at the airport, hear their stories as well as hearing about the opportunities on offer.

“After Covid, it's great to see new opportunities opening up at Heathrow again. All in all, it was another reminder of how important our airport is to our communities across West London and beyond.”

The Academy currently has over 100 roles available through their website, including in hospitality, ground handling, retail, construction, passenger services and security.
