"Local People Back Heathrow" says campaign group

In response to the Heathrow CEO’s call for the government to indicate support for a third runway at Heathrow yesterday, Parmjit Dhanda (Executive Director of the Back Heathrow campaign group) said:

“We have over 100,000 local supporters who have been calling for successive governments to build this vital piece of infrastructure for many years.”

Mr Dhanda continued, “Heathrow is the country’s biggest wealth generator and potentially a global beacon for decarbonisation in aviation. It is time for the government to listen to the silent majority of local people, who want to see more jobs and apprenticeships for their community.”

“After decades of wrangling, this government has an opportunity to deliver growth for our country and new opportunities for hard working local people in the boroughs around Heathrow.”
