Local Reform UK branches back Heathrow Expansion

Surrey’s Reform UK activists are backing plans for a new runway at Heathrow. This came just 24 hours after Shadow Chancellor Robert Jenrick MP said (with regards to delayed major infrastructure projects): “If this Government fails, and continues to fail, Reform UK will pass emergency legislation to build a third runway at Heathrow.”

Spelthorne Branch Chair Rory O’Brien said:

“For over 20 years governments have thrown their weight behind a third runway at Heathrow but have consistently failed to deliver it. Reform UK in local and national government, will roll up our sleeves and built it.”

Esher & Walton Branch Chair Christine Richardson said:

“This is exactly the kind of infrastructure Britain desperately needs in order to create more jobs, business opportunities and growth. Local people in Surrey and West London need this, and we have the bottle to help deliver it.”

Parmjit Dhanda, Executive Director of Back Heathrow said:

“This is not a time for faint hearts and whispered conversations with councillors about supporting Heathrow expansion, whilst living in fear of a vocal minority of residents. We had a very good briefing session with Reform UK and will be continuing our work with Conservatives and Labour councillors to assure that national political leadership is backed up by courage in local government to boost growth. As our 100,000 supporters regularly remind us, we need to get shovels in the ground.”

Back Heathrow is a community campaign representing over 100,000 residents who back expansion at Heathrow airport.
